Despite entering their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
